Our Little "Angell"

Well she finally made her appearance! Gracie Mae Angell arrived on July 7, 2010, at 7:00 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz, and was 19 1/2 inches long. I'm pretty sure her lucky number might be "7" :) She came with lots of dark hair. (lots to me, I was a baldy) The moment she arrived she was wide awake and ready for lots of visitors! Our little girl is no doubt a much loved angel...especially by her mom and dad!
Here's the story....

We went in for a doctors appointment at 9 o'clock on Wednesday the 7th. Of course we hear the usual, everything looks good. To this point I hadn't had any contractions or anything. I thought for sure she was going to be stubborn and drag this out as long as possible. So Dr. Ellis went ahead and checked me and I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. He went ahead and stripped my membranes. He then told us he would put money on me going that night or in the morning, but just in case we went ahead and scheduled another appointment, and a date to be induced if she hadn't already come. Then we were on our way back home.

We got home around 11:00, Ty had to go run a few errands, so I went ahead and finished packing our hospital bags, and finished up a few things around the house. Not long after, I was starting to have some contractions. I tried to lay down and take a little cat nap, but the pain was getting more and more intense. I tried eating a little lunch, that wasn't gonna happen. Took a bath, and it only made me more tired. I was definitely miserable. Kristin came over around 3:30 and we started timing contractions, but they were still irregular. I started puking with almost every other contraction. So finally around 5:15 we decided we better head back to Powell. We got almost to Garland, and my water breaks...oh joy! So we haul butt, and get to the hospital, get checked in and into a room. The nurse comes in to get me hooked up, all the while I'm still puking every 5 minutes. She proceeds to check me and I was almost fully dilated. This is awesome, no time for drugs. By this time I honestly thought I wasn't gonna make it much longer. Dr. Ellis still hadn't shown up, and Gracie was ready to come. Finally the dr. comes, just in time for me to start pushing. After what seemed like 5 minutes, Gracie made her debut at exactly 7 o'clock!!! Tyler and I have never been so happy in our lives :) Little miss was perfect!!!

She immediately had family rolling in to see her! I was surprised most of them made it in time :) I'm still amazed at how fast it all went. I guess I am pretty lucky, considering all the stories I've heard of people being in labor for over 30 hours! Gracie was definitely in a hurry to get here, and we are absolutely thrilled she is finally here!!! She has been such a good baby...so far. Since we've brought her home, we've only had one night where we were up the whole night feeding. Other than that she sleeps so good in her bassinet, and usually has to be woken up to eat. Me and Dad are definitely lucky to have such a sweet little girl! It's amazing how you can instantly fall in love with someone you just met! Gracie has her Dad and I wrapped around her little finger :) We love you so much Gracie Mae...and we are so glad you are here and healthy!!!
